Botswana is a cattle country and most Batswana are farmers who have always owned cattle as security and a sign for wealth.

Cattle have been the mainstay for Botswana's economy as they represent the country's third largest income earner after diamonds and tourism.

Beef exportation

Botswana Meat Commission BMC - established in 1967 is the official exporter of Botswana beef.

BMC is certified to the ISO 9002 quality system throughout its processes, which guarantee the production of quality beef.
